Out with the old and in with the new. 
Just yesterday we were talking about how the old logo was ushered out in favor of the new logo that better suited the "darker and more depraved Vindictus"...well look at what the Vindictus NA team has been up to! 

Vindi's Community Manager, Zoltar presented the world with this fresh new trailer of Vindictus.

Vindictus releases a new gameplay trailer June 23, 2014. 

 Coinciding with the "World Beyond" message, the trailer features a snippet of the original cinematic trailer (refreshed to fit with the theme) and quickly proceeds to the new world filled with action shots of a few of our most treacherous foes from both Season 1 and Season 2. The trailer is simply stunning and of course puts the new logo and brand out front for all to see. The apocalyptic trailer concludes reminding players that Vindictus is FREE TO PLAY.

Vindictus Logo End of an Era

A month ago Friday marked the end of an era. The end of the Vindictus' Golden Logo.

 A new world rises. NexNA staff announced that our Vindictus would be getting a new symbol to stand for our game. A new logo along with a complete rebrand.

As we reported at the time, plenty were outraged. Since then we've slowly seen the old logo being ushered out. Nexon has stated that the replacement logo better fits their vision of a darker Vindictus, a world of epic battle beyond that which we've seen.

A little over a month later and several questions still haven't been answered with the most concerning being, "what about EU?"

Nevertheless, we must move on. We have a new logo and its time to send off the old one properly.  Please take this time to remember the old logo, one last time before completely putting it to rest.

Nexon EU Provided a teaser for Lynn with updated notes from DevCat.

Dear Mercenaries,

Today, I am going to introduce you to a new character, Lynn.

Lynn is a character who uses Battle Glaives that are longer than her. She uses a spear to attack enemies, and is a fun and energetic character joining the Vindictus Family in June 2014.

Lynn's Skills

Swift Assassin

Swift Assassin is a core skill that we planned from the very beginning.

Lynn can trigger Swift Assassin with additional smash hits, and explodes with [Five Finger Death].
We have improved this skill as a core of the battle, and more will follow.

Zen Swift Assassin

Zen Swift Assassin a skill for more intense play. It might be a little bit harder than normal skills, but when you get used to it, you will have more fun while playing Lynn. 

Flies like a butterfly and stings like a bee. 

Little Rat

We developed this skill while considering how to use [Little Rat] to dodge an enemy's attack.
With this skill, you can accumulate Swift Assassin until a dangerous moment and dodge backward to prepare for the next attack.

Killer Dart

Killer Dart is a skill that enables Lynn to dodge an attack and approach the enemy rapidly.
You can accumulate energy while moving, and it enables you to accumulate Swift Assassin rapidly after approaching the enemy.

Wind Step

When you use Little Rat and Killer Dart, you will get [Wind Step] and [Furious Tiger].
Wind Step is a Dodge Skill that takes you behind the enemy. It can be used for dodging and attacking.

Furious Tiger enables you to accumulate one more Swift Assassin at the next smash hit.

We made Lynn’s active skills pretty different from other characters.

This is simply the basic appearance of a beautiful lady, but you can customize

First version: "Be cute!"

Choose a cute girl with eye liner and light pink lipstick!
Plus, with the free wave hairstyle, cap, short pants, and hammer,
she can apply for a part-time job with Ferghus! Hahaha.

Choose a wholesome-looking girl with no makeup and long pigtails.

Nexon America Announces Lynn

Nexon America's Vindictus branch has confirmed that the new playable character, Lynn will pop into existence sometime this month. A teaser for her has been placed on the website confirming a June 2014 release.  Though the date is not specific, the update should occur within a week of EU's release which is slotted for June 18th.

Players were pleasantly surprised to find the Story of Lynn impeccably posted on their website. Lynn is the upcoming character being released in both Europe and North America in the middle of June '14.

Its sort of  really nice to see Vindictus being used to publicize new games - we still need some specifically for us though.

Strange Traveler...Mysterious DevCat

The game is still in its early stages so not much is known.  Durango is set in the past and I'm talkin' way back - yup, the prehistoric era.  Back when the girls wore denim jean shorts while hunting for berries and the men rode dinosaurs as they shot them with harpoons...wait what!?!

Nexon NA: Min Kim Appointed Chairman AIAS, Vindictus on Display

Today Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) announced changes to its Board members including the promotion of our very own Min Kim as Chairman. The news also brings some exposure to Vindictus - the worlds best free to play action MMO.

Congratulations Min Kim!

The AIAS Board is composed of 15 volunteer directors, each of whom are leaders and trailblazers in their field.  AIAS is looking to the new Board to bring keen expertise from each of their respective fields to help advance the mission of AIAS projects and initiatives.

But that's not all. This is also great news for Vindictus. Check out that Nexon logo....Vindictus is prominently displayed on the AIAS press release as the backdrop for the Nexon logo.

Could this be another sign of change in the air?  Could Nexon really start advertising Vindictus more frequently? Could we, dare I say become the flagship of the NA branch?! Stay tuned, we'll be watching.

Hero Rocheste Raids

In the world of Vindictus, the summer months are a brief moment of relaxation for mercenaries. It is the only time of the year that the rains truly cease, and be it the increased heat or sunlight, something makes Fomors and other monsters less likely to emerge from the dank holes they call home.

Karok has taken this opportunity to hone his pillar into a weapon of even greater power. He'll need his Karok Revamp because the new Hero Mode Raids make even the easiest dungeon a true challenge.

No longer harried by monster attacks, the townsfolk of Vindictus have started to host carnivals, fairs and other events to celebrate the warm weather. Take part in the month long Golden Time Event or participate in Monster Bingo.

Friday, Nexons North American action title, Vindictus unveiled a new logo that sent shockwaves through its playerbase. Players were led on a scavenger hunt spanning several hours of hunting for clues revealed on Facebook, Twitter and the NA Forums.

 The effort was led by Zoltar - Community Manager [NA], feeding the clues directing the crowd to put together the puzzle. Piece by piece the tension built, excitement boiled and players were intrigued as they attempted to "Unravel the Mystery".

Once the final piece was in place, my fellow Vindiers processed the news...

It actually looks pretty dern good. This exciting revelation is sure to give their game a player boost and should mean great publicity for Nexon and other Nexon games...like Vindictus!

The movie is set to be released in 3-D and expected to hit the US in late Summer/early Fall.  I think I might watch JUST to make sure they threw in some of my favorite dance emotes in there :)

Evie: Ice Blow Tips

I thought this was kinda cool to show your Ice Blow and perhaps it might help with placement.

Ice Blow is not only fun but can hit up to 8 times.

I know a lot of Evies don't use it in their rotation for various reasons but one of those reasons is because they don't feel like they can achieve most of the hits.

For Ice Blow, it is the shards of ice that do the damage.  The range of the blow is far and its arc is wide.  Build your ice arch so that the shards are released toward the enemy (rather than on top of or inside of him)to obtain 6-8 hits.  When the shards break, your damage will be applied.  These shards can also travel far so you have some breathing room, hop back if you need to before executing. You can notice its distance and long reach if you're ever using the move during a Duel.

Important note, the shards apply damage, whether or not the boss is frozen from the action.

This is based on my experience.  Most of you know, I'm not a damage junkie and I could generally care less about the numbers but I feel this skill is underused and I wanted to show the placement, path and animation.

Feel free to offer different insight.

Follow up notes: 

• The range on Ice Blow is ridiculous, the guidance provided was to give the maximum potential for impact.
• When the Ice breaks, shards fly both forward and backward so if you are in the middle of being attacked, your Ice Blow will hit and damage will be applied, just not the full amount.
• You can hear the impact of the ice freezing  as well as when it breaks. 
• Don't forget to get your Freeze Bonus.
• Ice Blow is AWESOME in PVP.
• A good boss to practice your Blow on is Shakarr or the Emperor in Holy Ground.

Vindictus: Resources and Fansites Guide

In another absolutely dumbfounding move from Nexon executed by way of its most loathed VFM Aquasol - Nexon has decided that FANSITES are not a good addition to the "community" and have banned the mention of them on the forums (with the exception of the Vindictus Wiki which has historically provided zero valuable or accurate information since its inception).

Meet Your New CEO, Owen Mahoney

This just in Re/code is reporting that Nexon has promoted Owen Mahoney to the helm as  CEO (Chief Executive Officer and President). The change is set  to take effect given shareholder approval at the March 25th meeting.

Owen Mahoney is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrator. He has been with Nexon since 2010 after leaving EA where he was the head of Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Development.  A major achievement for Mahoney was ushering Nexon through its 1.2B IPO on the Tokyo Stock Exchange back in 2011.

But wait there is great news. Mahoney is indeed an American.  Originally from California, he will be the first American to lead the company.  His vision for the future seems to include a passport back to his roots where he intends to extend and solidify the companies holdings.

"I and we believe that there is a huge market opportunity in the West," Mahoney said. "And the industry is moving in our direction, which is online, synchronous free-to-play games."

I definitely dig the fact that he's an American and wants to see Nexon do better here. Hopefully this will be the much needed change we've been desiring.  As our previous CFO, he already has an understanding of the company, where we are - what works and what doesn't to make the game profitable. Hopefully his desire will translate into support and guidance for NA.

Evie Builds 3.0

After several additions to gear, accessories and scrolls along with the update to the Vindictus Armory old builds that were shared are no longer viable.  We've taken Evie to new heights since the last  post and it is the perfect time for a new one.

On the forums I encouraged Evies - new and old - to share their builds and goals for their Evies here. I hope you find list to be a great starting point for generating ideas for your Evie.

Ziny is one of our GM's over in NA. 

I absolutely love Ziny to pieces.

 I guess you could call me a fangirl...

WHY ZINY?

Well its not solely because he has great taste in fashion.
Nor is it because he's got a great sense of humor.
Its not because his Hurk is the sexiest thing on the server (but it helps).
Its because he's awesome!

"Ziny" joined our support team at a time when we needed it the most.

He came to the forums and began answering questions and fixing things

His responses were genuine and factual...and he's FUNNY

He didn't feed us a bunch of nonsense but got right to the point.

My favorite line of his - "You mad cause you bad."

More importantly - he did what he said he was going to do.

I had a rush of bots on my channel and within minutes of posting about it on
the forums Ziny went to action. He showed up on my channel, watched the
bots run their scripts and hung out with the Inner Sanctum crew a bit.
While this might be par for the course in most games - in Vindictus (at that time) it was not.
Seeing a GM was almost as rare as having spotted a Leprechaun. 

Within the week bots were gone from the server.

This provided us with some stability to enjoy our 3rd Anniversary events.

Subsequently, illegitimate gold prices rose the highest I've ever seen them (that's a good thing)

Zinydens continued presence is a sign of support from Nexon.

The combination of he and SamoSam was a much needed and awesome change.

As long as he's there, I know there is someone behind the scenes doing it right.
